Costa Rica, La Pastora
In terms of light roasted coffee Costa Rica is one of my favorite regions, last year around this time we had a Costa Rica from the Las Lajas region which had spectacular notes of light vanilla mixed with stone fruit and possibly cola flavors accompanied by a medium body. This year we are bringing Costa Rica back, this Costa Rica is from the La Pastora estate located in the Tarrazu region. The Tarrazu region is south of the capital San Jose, in a valley surrounded by mountains that are part of the Talamanca Sierra. The Tarrazu region sits at an elevation of about 1,200 - 1,800 meters above sea level.
Drinking this coffee immediately reminds me of eating chocolate covered berries with a light dusting of cocao powder. Mild sweet and tarte notes with just a little bit of the dry cocoa flavor on the end completes this cup making it a perfect end of summer coffee. Great as pour over, cold brew, and drip coffee.
Thanks for reading, liking, sharing and drinking.
